Genome Size Estimates and Chromosome Numbers of Callicarpa L. (Lamiaceae)
Genome size estimates and chromosome number information can be useful for studying the evolution or taxonomy of a group and also can be useful for plant breeders in predicting cross-compatibility. Callicarpa L. is a group of ’140 species with nearly worldwide distribution. There are no estimates of genome size in the literature and the information on chromosome numbers is limited. Genome size e...
متن کاملThe identity of Callicarpa minutiflora Y. Y. Qian (Lamiaceae) and taxonomic synonym of C. longifolia Lamarck
Although the specific epithet of Callicarpa minutiflora Y. Y. Qian has been revised for many times, during the study of the genus Callicarpa, we find that Callicarpa minutiflora Y. Y. Qian is identical to Callicarpa longifolia Lamarck by a series of morphologic characters. In order to avoid more confusion, here Callicarpa minutiflora Y. Y. Qian is reduced as a synonym of Callicarpa longifolia L...
متن کاملLectotypification of Linnaean names in Pedicularis (Orobanchaceae)
Ten Linnaean names of Pedicularis (Orobanchaceae) are lectotypified: P. comosa, P. flammea, P. hirsuta, P. incarnata, P. lapponica, P. resupinata, P. rostrata, P. tristis, P. tuberosa and P. verticillata. Lectotypes are designated from the Linnaean herbarium at LINN. The type choices made here maintain the present usage of the corresponding Linnaean names for ten Pedicularis species.

Four new triterpenoids which were identifed as 2α,3β,6β,19α-tetrahydroxy- oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy-3α,19α-di-hydroxyoleanolic acid (2), 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyloxy-3α,19α-dihydroxyursolic acid (3), 2α,3α,6β,19α-tetrahydroxyursolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), were isolated from the aerial parts of Callicarpa kwangtungensis together with three kn...
متن کاملLectotypification, emended description and distribution of Planothidium distinctum (Achnanthidiaceae, Bacillariophyceae)
The rare boreo-alpine, oligotraphenic diatom Planothidium distinctum (= Achnanthes distincta) was first described from the western Alps in 1954. Achnanthes hirta, a species described in 1970 from the Pyrenees, is regarded as a heterotypic synonym of Planothidium distinctum but almost all morphological details of P. distinctum are known from the type material of Achnanthes hirta. On the basis of...
